Vilanova tests Villa’s patience

It appears that FC Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova is testing David Villa’s patience. The player is ready but is unable to command a first team place in Barcelona’s starting eleven. David Villa was seen on Sunday at the Camp Nou warming up and directing his gaze towards Vilanova who ignored the striker and didn’t even use him against Real Madrid.

Barca Madrid clasico ends in a 2 2 draw

It looked like the Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi show tonight at the Camp Nou with both players in fine form scoring some quality goals. Real Madrid struck first which was followed up by a goal from Messi to make the first half 1 apiece. The second half was much of the same and was witness to two more great goals by these two giants.

Carles Puyol ruled out for eight weeks

It’s bad news for Barca fans and manager Tito Vilanova as captain Carles Puyol has been ruled out for up to eight weeks. The news is a blow for the coach who also has defender Gerard Piqué sidelined with a foot injury.

Puyol’s dislocated elbow overshadows Barca’s win against Benfica

FC Barcelona beat a stubborn Benfica side here in Lisbon last night by two goals to nil with goals coming from Alexis and Cesc Fabregás. The night was spoiled however as Barca captain Carles Puyol suffered a dislocation to his left elbow which left him in agony on the floor. Puyol was stretchered off to a standing ovation by the Lisbon crowd.
