Javier Mascherano feels valued at Barca he says.He is having talks about a new contract and would like to be at Barca for many years, he added.
He also says that playing center back comes naturally to him. He has had a tough year and a lot of people didn’t think he pulled his weight. It has been tough with Puyol and he has had to take on certain responsibilities.
Last Thursday he said that his representative is handling the matters and that talks were under way to keep him at the Nou Camp. Mascherano also sacrificed big money and earnings by coming to Barca and he knows it. On the other hand he wouldn’t have won the trophies that he has. Most players would have done the same thing I’m guessing.
Mascherano said on Barca’s official website:
“When you’re in a big team and when that big chance comes along you have to take it and not let it slip away.”
Speaking about the Balon D’Or prize he stated that he would like to see fellow Argentine Messi win it again followed by Xavi then Iniesta.
