It came as no surprise yesterday when Argentine goal scoring machine Leo Messi was handed his third FIFA Ballon D’OR in a row. He beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and team mates Xavi and Iniesta to the top spot.

Espanyol puts a spanner in Barca’s works
Espanyol earned a 1-1 draw at last night’s derby match at the Cornellà stadium. It didn’t do any favours at all for Barca who now find themselves five points adrift from la Liga leaders Real Madrid.
