Pato’s Early Strike Stuns Barcelona

Barcelona FC created Champions League history last night when they became the first reigning champs to concede the opening goal of the tournament.
Milan forward Alexandre Pato struck inside the first minute to give AC Milan a shock lead at the Nou Camp in Barcelona.

Then Barca forward Pedro Rodriguez equalised just after the half-hour and David Villa put the Catalans ahead five minutes after the break only for Thiago Silva to deny them a winning start with Milan’s last-minute strike to make it 2-2.

Lucho Gonzalez ensured French side Marseille top Arsenal’s Group F with a 51st-minute winner at OLYMPIAKOS in Greece. Marseille held on despite having Rod Fanni sent off in added time.

GENK and VALENCIA played out a goalless draw in Chelsea’s Group E.
